The "Academic Trail" program is a new tradition started at MTHS in 2016.  Midland Trail is committed to celebrating student success and the program was  created to honor academic excellence.  This first ceremony awarded Academic  Letters, in the shape of the "Lamp of Learning", to all students who met the  following criteria for the school years of 2013 through 2016:

1.  Must have taken a minimum of 5 credit classes per year.
2.  Must maintain a 3.5 or above GPA for each grading term of the academic    school year.

Academic letters are awarded the first time a student meets the criteria and a year pin is awarded each year thereafter.  Carrying on the proud tradition of Patriot academic success, we would also like to recognize the parents/guardians of these outstanding students for their dedications, commitment, and support to assure Midland Trail High School is the best school in Fayette County.

Welcome to Midland Trail High School

College Decision Day 2017

As a GEAR UP focus school, MTHS hosted its 3rd College Decision Day.  College Decision Day events provide schools and communities with an opportunity to showcase the academic excellence of students.   These accomplishments would not be achieved without the hard work on behalf of the students and the families who support and encourage them.

Secretary of State visits MTHS

Secretary of State Natalie E. Tennant presented MTHS Teacher of the Year, Jeff Eades, with the 2016 Jennings Randolph Award in recognition of exemplary voter registration efforts!

On June 22 & 23, WV was hit by a devastating flood that affected most of the state.  Among the areas hit hardest were some of our neighboring counties and their school systems.

As the nation watched, WV showed why we are some of the most resilient and strong-willed people in the world.  We did not wait on assistance, one-by-one, communities sprung into action to help one another. Neighbors, community groups, church groups, and local organizations reached out to help the unfortunate victims of the flood of 2016.  Midland Trail Athletes were among those groups helping.  Athletes representing football, basketball, track, wrestling, and softball from Midland Trail traveled to Clay County High School shortly after the devastating floods to assist the people of Clay.  The picture below is a small group representing athletes from Trail and Clay that participated in the clean-up effort.  Many other schools around the area participated as well.  We are Proud PATRIOTS but we are all Proud WEST VIRGINIANS.  #westvirginiastrong

Congratulations to Mykah Price!!!  Mykah signed to play soccer at WVU Tech.  Adminstration, faculty, and staff are extremely proud of your accomplishments.
