Midland Trail High School is proud to announce that our Health Sciences and Technology Academy (HSTA) students earned 1st place honors at the 2026 HSTA Symposium, showcasing their dedication, innovation, and commitment to academic excellence.
The annual HSTA Symposium brings together some of the brightest student researchers from across West Virginia, providing a platform for students to present original research projects focused on real-world issues in health, science, and community impact. Competing among top peers from across the state, Midland Trail students stood out for the quality of their research, depth of analysis, and professionalism in presentation, ultimately earning a tie for 1st place—a remarkable achievement.
This accomplishment reflects the hard work and perseverance of our students, as well as the guidance and support of our HSTA teachers and mentors. Through months of research, data collection, and presentation preparation, these students demonstrated the core values of Midland Trail High School—rigor, relevance, and real-world application of learning.
Participation in HSTA provides students with opportunities to explore careers in healthcare and STEM fields while developing essential skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving. Achievements like this highlight the strength of our programs and the potential of our students to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.
We congratulate our HSTA students on this outstanding accomplishment and look forward to their continued success as they represent Midland Trail High School with excellence.
