Parents, Friends, and community members: In an effort to make our schools as safe as possible, we are asking everyone to please be aware of West Virginia Code 61-7-11a which prohibits weapons of any kind on school property. We understand that many in our community may have permits to carry a concealed weapon, but you are not permitted to do so in school buildings or on school property while attending school events. Fayette County Schools will enforce this law to the best of our abilities and we will notify law enforcement of any violations. We appreciate your cooperation and courtesy in abiding by this law.
