Please join us for the First Chiller Thriller Mental Health Awareness Event in Fayette County, WV, sponsored by Project Aware, Fayette County, WV. The event will take place in both Project Aware Communities: Oak Hill and Valley.
Oak Hill: Oct 22nd @ 12:30, at Oak Hill City Park (Rain Date: Oct 29th @ 12:30)
Our vision is that the entire community will participate in either watching OR learning and performing the Chiller Thriller, which is a simplified and accessible version of the Thriller Dance. The choreography has a standing and seated version that tells a story about the journey we each take with our mental health and is similar to Micheal Jackson’s version as well. Costumes are encouraged, but not required. Feel free to dress as a zombie or any other character of your choice.
Project Aware is visiting area schools to teach the dance to Fayette County students, we are hosting community practice sessions, and we have a tutorial video of the dance on youtube.
Community practices sessions are open and free to the public and will last an hour.
The Old Rosedale School, Oak Hill Oct 20th Times: 10 am or 5:30 pm

Rainbow over the School

Autism Spirit Week!

Dear New River Primary Parents, Bus 1670 will not make any a.m. or p.m. runs on Friday March 18, 2022. You are welcome to bring your children to school. However, if you do bring them to school you will have to pick them up in the evening using the car rider lane. The office staff will write your child a note to be a car rider.

Child Safe Program
According to the FBI’s National Crime Information Center (NCIC), there were more than 365,000 NCIC entries for missing children in 2020. Experts agree that photos and other identification supplied in the first 24 hours are crucial in safe recovery.
That’s why your child’s school has partnered with American Income Life Insurance Company (AIL) to make Child Safe Kits available to your family at NO COST. These kits, endorsed and supported by the International Union of Police Associations, allow you to record and keep fingerprints, vital information and a photo of each child (and there is an APP to keep your child's fingerprints with you at all time). Each family is also eligible for a NO COST Health Discount Card. Please watch for the AIL Plus/Child Safe Flyer to come home with your student and return by Tuesday March 22nd. The school will receive a $1 donation for every family that returns a card.

Good evening New River Primary family. This is Mrs. Bishop with a message from the local 4-H group. The teen leaders are collecting non-perishable and hygiene items for people in our community who are in need. 4-H donations will be accepted at NRP now until March 26, 2022. A donation box will be in the main hallway If you choose to donate. Thank you for your support. Have a great evening!
