🎉Congratulations to OHHS Service Personnel of the Year, Mrs. Jennifer Bowyer 🎉
Mrs. Jennifer Bowyer grew up in Ravenswood and graduated from Ravenswood High School in 1983. She pursued her passion for travel by earning an Associate’s Degree in Travel & Tourism from Mountain State College in Parkersburg, WV, in 1985. Later, she expanded her skills in special education, earning an Autism Mentor Certificate from Erma Byrd Center in 2011.
Mrs. Bowyer began her career at OHHS in 2011 as an Autism Mentor, after working for Fayette County Schools as a cook in 2006 and an aide in 2008. Throughout her years of service, she has been dedicated to helping students grow and reach their full potential. She finds the most rewarding part of her job is witnessing the transformation of her students as they develop and thrive.
Outside of school, Jennifer enjoys gardening, hiking, camping, and traveling. She cherishes time spent with her family, including her husband of 22 years, Matthew, her son, Travis McCoy, and his wife, Emily, as well as her three grandchildren—Shaylee, Dawson, and Harlan.
Being selected as Service Personnel of the Year was both a surprise and an honor for Mrs. Bowyer. She says that she deeply appreciates the support of her colleagues and feels privileged to work alongside an incredible team of administrators and teachers.
Congratulations, Mrs. Bowyer - we're so proud to know you and to work alongside you! ❤️🖤
