We would like to thank all the staff members, students, parents, and community members for helping with the Fayette County Tournament last night, Friday, February 21, 2025.
Please join us today, Saturday, February 22, 2025, as our Middle School Greyhound Basketball Team plays Fayetteville Pirates.

For the week of February 18, 2025-February 21, 2025, all BLAST students will be dismissed from the new cafeteria. Please pick up your child from this area and not the main entrance.

VPK8 Stem Night will take place this evening, Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 4:30 pm until 6:00 pm. Please come through the new cafeteria door to sign in for the event. We will have STEM activities for different grades, refreshments, a free book, and one free admission to the boy's basketball game on Thursday night. We are looking forward to seeing everyone!

On Friday, February 14, 2025, there will be a Middle School Dance( 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students) from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm. Refreshments will be provided by the Athletic Boosters.

Hello Parents!
We hope you are staying warm in these arctic temperature. This week has been busy with Middle-of-Year Benchmark Testing. VPK8 students have been working hard on their tests, and we are very proud of their progress. Please work to get your child/children to school the remainder of this week, it is crucial.
Your child will be coming home with two permission slips. These permission slips are for the 2025 West Virginia School Learning Environment Survey. Please complete the permission forms and return to your child's/children's classroom teacher as soon as possible. Please feel free to contact Chastity Smith or John McPhail if you have any questions regarding this survey.

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with laughter, family, lots of good food, and most importantly, memories. Tomorrow, Monday, December 2, 2024, will be our first day back from Thanksgiving Break. We are looking forward to seeing our Pups, Lil' Hounds, and Greyhounds. Please remember that our doors do not open until 7:15 am. Staff members are not permitted to allow any student entrance. until 7:15 am. Please make arrangements not to drop your child off prior to 7:15 am. Additionally, please work to get your child/children to school by 7:45 am. If your child needs to eat breakfast, please be at the school by 7:30 am. The instructional day begins at 7:45 am and every instructional minute is crucial. Enjoy the remainder of your Thanksgiving Break!

No students will be permitted to sign-out after 11:45 am today, Thursday, November 21, 2024. Dismissal from VPK8 will be at 12:24 pm. Buses will be loaded and leaving at 12:30 pm. Car riders will be dismissed at 1235 pm.

Beginning on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, the doors to the school will not be open to students until 7:15 am.
If you received paperwork from the Counselor/Therapist/Social Worker, during the Parent Teacher Conference, please return the forms to Amber Hampe, Terrance Hamm, or Lesle Wickline by Thursday, November 14, 2024.

Tomorrow, Monday, November 4, 2024, will be VPK8's first Parent Teacher Conference. During this conference, you can pick up your child's/children's grade card ,and discuss the new grading policy.
There will be no BLAST or CODA on Monday, November 4, 2024, due to the scheduled Parent Teacher Conference.
There will be no school on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, due to Election Day.
