To our Valley PK-8 Community. This is a reminder that weather permitting we will be having a costume parade tomorrow on the football field and that parents are welcome to watch from the bleachers. Below are the administration instructions for the Fall 2023 WV School Learning Environment Survey for parents or caregivers of students at:

The online parent survey will be available from October 2 through November 17, 2023.
Parents are asked to complete an online survey about school climate—the learning and teaching/working conditions—to help guide school improvement efforts. The results of this survey will be used to make changes in their child's school to ensure a supportive environment for teaching and learning. The survey may be completed from any computer with an internet connection.
Parent participation in the survey is very important.
Your participation is voluntary. You may choose not to participate; not to answer any questions you do not want to answer; and you may stop participating at any time during the survey without penalty. Your responses will be anonymous and confidential.

The dance will run from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Please make sure to pick up all students by 9:00 p.m. Only students and chaperones will be admitted to the dance, and refreshments will be provided.
This is a special message to the Valley PK-8 Community. We will be having our Homecoming activities this week. The homecoming parade will be on 9/21/23 beginning at 1:15. The parade will take place in the town of Smithers. Due to safety precautions, we are asking that if you have to sign out your student that you do so prior to 12:45. We would also like to invite everyone out to the game at 6:30 that night 9/21/23. Gates will open at 5:30. Also, on that night we will be crowning Mr. and Ms. Greyhound, and we hope you can join us.

Parents, Friends, and community members: In an effort to make our schools as safe as possible, we are asking everyone to please be aware of West Virginia Code 61-7-11a which prohibits weapons of any kind on school property. We understand that many in our community may have permits to carry a concealed weapon, but you are not permitted to do so in school buildings or on school property while attending school events. To my great Greyhound family. I want to thank you for trusting in me for the care and well being of your sons and daughters over the past 38 years. It has come a time that all races have come to an end. Now is that time. I will be retiring on June 30, 2023. I want to thank each and everyone of you for your support to help our children grow into the fine young men and women that they have become and have given me the opportunity to share in their growth.
