We will be doing a school wide canned food drive next week. All donations will be given to local organizations in need. Please support your student in understanding and valuing the importance of giving and supporting each other this season by sending an item in. The winning class will be announced Friday December 8th and the pizza party will be scheduled the following week. Thank you for your participation and supporting our students.
There will be a meeting tomorrow November 29th at 6:30 for the athletic boosters. In addition to the regular meeting any parent interested in letting their child play baseball this season is being asked to attend to discuss fundraising. Thank you.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Drug-Free All-Stars event scheduled for December 1st is being rescheduled for December 19th. Because of this schedule change, the event is now free to all students.
On Friday, December 1st, from 9:00 – 11:00, Valley PK-8 will be hosting the Drug Free All Stars. This Harlem Globetrotters style basketball show will feature some of our own Valley PK-8 faculty and students. It is designed to promote a powerful and positive drug free message.
Cost to attend is $1.00 per student. Teachers will be collecting money at the beginning of the day all week.
This is a special message to our Valley PK-8 Community. There will be a change to the AM bus run for bus 1527. Bus 1527 will begin picking up students at Boonesborough near the bus garage at 6:55 am starting Monday, November 13th. This will mean students riding this bus will be picked up about 25 minutes earlier. For the PM run bus 1527 will be dropping students off after school 25 minutes earlier than usual.

To our Valley PK-8 Community. This is a reminder that weather permitting we will be having a costume parade tomorrow on the football field and that parents are welcome to watch from the bleachers. This will begin at 10:00. As per our safe school guidelines class parties this year will be for students only. As always each teacher would appreciate any donation in support of those parties.

Parents are asked to complete an online survey about school climate—the learning and teaching/working conditions—to help guide school improvement efforts. The results of this survey will be used to make changes in their child's school to ensure a supportive environment for teaching and learning. The survey may be completed from any computer with an internet connection.

The dance will run from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Please make sure to pick up all students by 9:00 p.m. Only students and chaperones will be admitted to the dance, and refreshments will be provided.

The parade will take place in the town of Smithers. Due to safety precautions, we are asking that if you have to sign out your student that you do so prior to 12:45. We would also like to invite everyone out to the game at 6:30 that night 9/21/23. Gates will open at 5:30. Also, on that night we will be crowning Mr. and Ms. Greyhound, and we hope you can join us.
Dear Greyhound family. Tomorrow are asking our staff and students join other Fayette County schools in wearing red, white, and blue tomorrow in honor of Midland Trail.
