Valley PK-8 School would like our Parents, Faculty, Staff and Students to know that we have been using the EVOLV system to scan our students and visitors when they come into the building. We will be using this system for all of our extracurricular events such as games, dances, social gatherings, etc. We are doing this as another precautionary step to ensure the safety and well- being of our students, guests, and staff. When the system is in place you will simply walk through the monitors. If indicated that there may be something detected, you will be subject to search. Please cooperate with us so that we may keep events safe for all. As a reminder only Law Enforcement are permitted to carry firearms into Public Schools for events. We appreciate your cooperation.

SUBJECT: PLAN B ALTERNATIVE - BUS OPERATOR COVERAGE PURPOSE: To provide an opportunity for students to attend school a limited number of instructional minutes when bus routes are canceled due to limited bus operator personnel. PROCEDURE: 1. The Transportation, or his designee, will monitor bus operator attendance at least one working days in advance to make sure bus routes are covered. 2. When it is determined that no substitute can be secured the next school day for an absent bus operator, the Transportation Director will notify the Superintendent for approval to initiate Plan B alternative instead of cancelling that particular bus route. 3. Bus operators within the same bus center will be provided an opportunity, in seniority order, to cover bus route that has no secured substitute. When considering covering for an absent bus operator, bus operators must remember they cannot exceed the maximum driving time allotted per day (10 hours) or cannot work more than the maximum hours worked in a day (15 hours). If a bus operator foresee they will exceed the number of hours, they cannot accept the Plan B alternative run. Bus operators cannot decline trip assignments already assigned in order to take Plan B alternative runs. 4. The Plan B alternative bus operator will run the absent bus operator’s route after completing their normal morning run. The Plan B alternative bus operator will be at the school in the afternoon, according to the schedule on the back, and take those students home so they may return back to their school on time and complete their normal afternoon run. 5. Bus operators accepting Plan B alternative coverage will be paid at 1/7 daily bus operator rate for work time during alternative runs. 6. Once a Plan B alternative bus operator has been secured, an all call will be placed to those affected parents/guardians informing them of the alternative pick up and drop off time. The school principal will be notified of the Plan B alternative run. 7. No Plan B alternative may be initiated unless prior days’ notice is given to parents/guardians due to arrangements that parents/guardians have to make. 8. Plan B Times by Schools: School Approx.
