Dear Staff,
Tomorrow is WV School Service Personnel Day. The professional staff would like to show their appreciation by providing a pizza luncheon for the service personnel. Pizza will be delivered at 11:15 AM and will be available in the second grade hallway in the PLC room. It is located toward the end of the hallway on the right. All staff members are welcome to come and get 2 slices of pizza. We appreciate all the service personnel in our school and realize we could not do our jobs without you. We see how you care for our students and it shows daily. Thank you for all you do and thank you for a job well done!
Sincerely,
NRP Professional Staff

Dear New River Primary Panther Families,
We want to remind you of our commitment to a safe and secure environment for all students, staff, and visitors at NRP. Pursuant to West Virginia Code §61-7-11a, it is strictly prohibited for anyone to carry weapons on school property, including extracurricular events, regardless of whether the individual has a permit to conceal carry. This policy is enforced to ensure the safety of everyone on school grounds. We ask for your cooperation in adhering to this regulation during all school-related activities.
If you have any questions, please reach out to the school administration. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school community safe.

Dear Parents,
This is a reminder that we do not allow sign outs after 2:00 PM at New River Primary. Students need to be picked up prior to 2:00 PM if they have a doctor's appointment. Also, parents we have asked that you not enter the school grounds until 3:30PM. We have students moving outside to and from the playground until 3:10 or later. So, we need the area beside our school free of traffic. We appreciate you following the routines that we have put in place to keep our students and staff safe. Also, please park your cell phone when you enter the school campus as we need you to pay attention to foot traffic and our staff directing traffic. Our students are doing a great job this year of following routines and rules and we are very proud of them. Again, thank you for your help.
Sincerely,
Lee R. Jones, Principal

Dear Teachers and staff,
Please make sure you have all emails/passwords ready to send home in an envelope on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. If you have any questions, please contact me. If for some reason you are not hear please tell your instructional aide where these documents are so they can give them out on Wednesday.
Please be mindful of the season as germs are growing. Please wipe off tables and doorknobs. The custodians are doing this at night but a few times throughout the day would not hurt. We are doing this in the front office and lobby to help fight the cold season as it has arrived early this year. Keep up the great work and remember positive attitudes are contagious. I know we have a lot of behaviors, and I know we all would like to have less on our plates. I tried to lighten some of your loads, and it was not possible. Others from the cental office did too. Also, remember before you complain you might ask yourself do I know the whole story. If you cannot answer yes, then seek to understand. I am here to listen and to solve problems as is Mrs. Bishop however sometimes there may not be an immediate solution to the concern or situation. Again, thank you for your help and all you do for our students. I know the students appreciate what we do as they say to me this school is amazing and I love it here. That is not because of one person it is because of us.

Dear Parents,
We are getting a lot of volunteer applications returned to the school and we are very thankful for your interest in getting and being involved in our school. However, completing the application is only one part of the process. As a Parents/Guardians you will need to pay for and complete the fingerprint and background check process after the Fayette County Board of Education sends you notification on how to complete these steps. We have a lot of parents and guardians who have submitted applications before and resubmit applications but have never had a background check completed when they are notified by the Personnel Department of the Fayette County Board of Education. So, please be on the lookout for your letter with detail instructions on how to get your background check completed. We need you and we are counting on you.
Sincerely,
New River Primary School Staff and Students
