Starting Monday, August 31, 2026, Oak Hill Middle School will be using a new text-based system to keep you informed when your child is absent — and to make it simple for you to respond, ask questions, and share notes, all without a phone call. Here's what's new: You'll receive a text when your child is absent. A message will come from 1-304-833-5154— save this number in your contacts so you never miss it. You can text back directly. Reply to confirm an absence, share the reason, or ask a question. It's that simple. You can send photos of notes by text. Need to submit a parent note or a doctor's note? Just take a photo and text it to the same number — no need to drop anything off at the office. You can proactively text us. Know that your child will be absent? Send us a text to 1-304-833-5154 Phone Number and we’ll update the record accordingly. The texts are powered by our AI attendance assistant, and every response goes directly to our attendance team and your child's record is updated accordingly. We have received numerous calls that Oak Hill Middle does not have power. This is NOT true. We do have power and school is operating normally.

Good evening! As you prepare for the first day of school tomorrow, here are a few tips to help make the day go smoothly for your sudent: If you bring your child to school, drop off begins at 6:50 in front of New River Primary. You will need to enter beside New River Intermediate and go down the hill. No students are dropped off at any other location on campus. All students must be in class by 7:15. After this time, they are considered tardy. School will dismiss at 2:00 on Thursday and Friday. If it is necessary to pick your child up early, it must be done prior to 1:00 to allow for bus traffic. There will be no bus notes to ride any bus with another student for the first 2 weeks of school. This is county policy. If you pick your child up from school, you may begin lining up in front of New River Primary no earlier than 1:45. For safety, car riders are not dismissed from the school until all buses have left the campus. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

Locks will be sold during each grade level meeting this evening. Please bring $7. Exact change is appreciated. As a reminder, 7th and 8th grade will be from 4:30 - 5:45 and 6th grade will be from 6:00 - 7:30. We look forward to seeing everyone!

This is a reminder that today is the last day that the virtual application link will be live. If you are interested in virtual and have not submitted your application, please do so on the FCBOE website by 8:00 PM today July 31, 2026.
